Cabinetmakers Fight China's Alleged Customs Fraud

A bipartisan coalition of U.S. senators and representatives sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Commerce and Customs and Border Protection expressing concern over alleged fraud involving kitchen cabinets imported from China. Representative Abigail Spanberger said, "There is evidence that Chinese cabinet manufacturers have sought to undercut the U.S. industry by circumventing antidumping and countervailing duties."

Canada Hits China With Hardwood Plywood Dumping Order

The Canada Border Services Agency has announced its preliminary dumping and subsidy determination on decorative and other non‑structural plywood imports from China. CBSA determined combined margins of dumping and subsidizing of up to 203% for the vast majority of Chinese exporters.

These provisional duties apply to decorative and other non‑structural plywood imported from China into Canada as of October 23, 2020.

USTR Blocks Illegal Timber Imports From Peru

The U.S. Trade Representative directed U.S. Customs to continue to block timber imports from a Peruvian exporter due to illegally harvested timber found in its supply chain.
